These Terms govern the use of the Coffee Codex app, with contact at contato@cafesinn.com.br. By creating an account, accessing or using the app, you declare that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms.
Coffee Codex is an app for organizing and tracking coffee brews. It allows you to register coffees, waters, equipment, filters, methods, accessories and recipes; execute recipes with a timer; log brews in a diary; rate results; track inventory; compare brews A/B; unlock achievements; favorite or like recipes; and share recipe or item information.
The app offers content, suggestions and tools to support coffee brewing. The information displayed does not constitute professional health, nutrition, food safety or equipment operation advice.
You may use part of the app without an account or create an account via email/password or Google login. You are responsible for keeping your access data secure and for all actions taken on your account.
When using third-party login, such as Google, you are also subject to the terms and policies of that service. We may refuse, suspend or terminate access in case of misuse, attempted fraud, violation of these Terms or legal requirement.
The free mode may have usage limits, including the number of coffees, waters, grinders, recipes and history access. Paid plans may unlock additional features, such as greater registration capacity, cloud backup/sync, removal or reduction of ads and premium features.
If you cancel your subscription, you will lose access to premium features at the end of the paid period, unless otherwise stated by Google Play. Already registered data may continue to be stored locally on the device, subject to technical availability. Subscription-dependent features, such as cloud sync, cross-device backup, automatic restoration and editing beyond the free plan limits, may be suspended.
In case of downgrade to the free plan, the app may keep excess data in read-only mode, but may limit new creations, edits, syncs or restorations until usage is within the free plan limits or a new subscription is activated. Cloud data linked to premium features may be retained for a reasonable period to allow reactivation, security, legal compliance or support, as detailed in the Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. Prices, billing period, renewal, cancellation and payment methods are presented in the Google Play purchase flow before confirmation.
You may cancel the subscription in your Google Play account settings. Cancellation prevents future charges, but typically maintains access until the end of the already paid period. Refunds follow Google Play policies, developer policy and applicable law.
Purchases may be restored through the app, when available, to recover access to an active subscription.
The free plan may display ads, including banners, native ads or interstitials. The app uses Google ad services and may request consent through Google's consent platform when required. You may access ad privacy options in the app settings, when available.
The app may store locally data such as recipes, brew records, ratings, sensory notes, coffees, waters, equipment, inventory, preferences, language, theme, currency, weight unit, likes and achievements.
When you sign into an account or use premium features, some of this data may be synced with cloud services for backup, restoration and cross-device use. Some technical data, such as user identifiers, local item identifiers, sync status and modification timestamps, may be used to maintain data consistency.
Local data is associated with the account active on the device. When you sign in with a different account on the same device, the previous account's local data that was not synced may be removed from that device, as a cross-account privacy measure. Data synced to the cloud (premium features) remains linked to the respective account and is restored on its next sign-in.
The processing of personal data is subject to the Coffee Codex Privacy Policy, provided separately.
You retain rights to recipes, notes, records, ratings and other information you register in the app.
By entering content in the app, you grant Coffee Codex a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license, limited to the purposes of the app and sublicensable only to service providers necessary for its operation, to host, store, technically copy, process, adapt formats, sync, back up, display, analyze and make available such content in accordance with the app's features, these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Coffee Codex may use content and data generated through use of the app, such as recipes, brewing parameters, ratings, likes, methods, equipment, sensory notes and usage metrics, in aggregated, statistical, anonymized or non-identifiable form, to improve the app, develop new features, generate rankings, recommendations, analyses, trends and editorial or informational materials related to the coffee universe.
When content is used publicly or promotionally with direct user identification — such as name, photo, profile, personal brand or clear indication of individual authorship — Coffee Codex will request prior and express consent, except where the user voluntarily publishes or shares such content in a public area of the app or through a tool that indicates this purpose.
You declare that you will not submit illegal, offensive or fraudulent content, or content that violates third-party rights or compromises the security of the app.
Use of recipes, temperatures, equipment, grinds, ingredients and methods is your responsibility. Be careful when handling hot water, steam, electricity, glassware, pressure, caffeine and allergenic ingredients. Coffee Codex does not guarantee specific results of flavor, extraction, safety or equipment performance.
We strive to keep the app working properly, but we do not guarantee continuous availability, error-free operation or permanent compatibility with all devices. Features may be changed, suspended or removed for maintenance, security, product evolution, legal requirement or business decision.
You may sign out or request deletion of your account and associated personal data, when available in the app or by contacting support. Under LGPD, you may also request confirmation of processing, access, correction, portability, anonymization, blocking or deletion of personal data, as well as information about sharing and other rights provided by applicable law.
Deletion may remove access to the account and to synced data, except where retention is necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, fulfillment of contractual obligations or regular exercise of rights. Local data stored only on the device can be erased by removing the app, clearing its data or using internal deletion tools, when available. The Privacy Policy details channels, deadlines and procedures for exercising these rights.
The app, brand, layout, code, icons, texts, internal recipe database, visual elements and other components of Coffee Codex belong to the provider or its licensors. You receive only a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the app in accordance with these Terms.
You must not attempt to hack, copy, modify, resell, abusively automate, exploit flaws, bypass plan limits, defraud subscriptions, interfere with ads, mass-extract data or use the app for illegal purposes.
The app may depend on services such as Firebase, Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing, Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform and other Android/Google components. These services may process data according to their own policies and terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coffee Codex shall not be liable for indirect damages, loss of unsynced data, unsatisfactory recipe results, misuse of equipment, unavailability of third-party services or decisions made based on the app's information.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights provided by law.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the app, legislation or business practices. Substantial changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice through the app, store, website or another appropriate means. If you do not agree with the changes, you may close your account before they take effect. Continued use after the update indicates agreement with the new version.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Disputes shall be subject to the competent court in accordance with applicable law, especially consumer protection rules where applicable.
